Di dîroka dengbêjiya kurd de gelek dengbêjên qedirşinas derketine holê, ked û xebatên pîroz dane. Dengbêj Cemîl Horo jî yek ji wan dengbêjan e ku li gorî hin çavkaniyên cuda di 10’ê adara 1934’an de li gundê Serîncekê yê navçeya Bilbilê ya Efrîna rojavayê Kurdistanê hatiye dinyayê. Cemîl Hora ji biçûkaniya xwe ve stran û kelaman dibêje û dibe yek ji dengbêj û hunermendê navdar ê Rojava û çar parçeyên Kurdistanê.

Wekî her hunermend û dengbêjê Kurdistanê Cemîl Horo jî bi huner û dengbêjiya xwe nikare debara xwe bike û hin kar û xebatên din jî dike. Tê gotin ku dikaneke wî ya xeratiyê hebû û li taxa Şêx Meqsûda Helebê bi navê Qehweya Cemîl Horo ji xwe re qehwexaneyekê vedike û di roja me ya îro de jî ew qehwe li Şêx Meqsûd navdar e.

Cemîl Horo jî wekî her welatparêzekî kurd xwedî nêrîn û armanceke siyasî ye. Li aliyekî xebatên xwe yên hunerî dike, li aliyê din jî yek ji endamê Partiya Demokrata Kurdistan Sûriyeyê ye ku xebatên siyasî dimeşîne. Ji ber vê yekê gelek caran rastî girtin û lêdanê tê. Li gorî daneyan di sala 1958’an 80’ê rojî tê girtin.

Her wiha ji ber astengiyan Cemîl Horo neçar dibe ku demekê were li Tirkiyeyê bijî.  Piştre jî berê xwe dide bajarê Zaxo yê başûrê Kurdistanê li wê derê bi cih dibe. Di sala 1970’yî de careke din vedigere rojavayê Kurdistanê, kar û xebata xwe ya hunerî didomîne.

Hunermend Cemîl Horo di sala 1965’an de yekem kasêta xwe tomar dike. Li gel Mihemed Arifê Cizîrî, Seîd Yûsif û gelek hunermendên kurd stranan dibêje. Hin stranên dengbêj yên navdar ev in; Lo bavo, Memê Alan, Bejna Rindê, Ehmed Axa, Li min li min û hwd.
